It’s 2135 and for nearly twenty years, the Belenus Initiative has reduced violent crime and made society safer. Immersing its users into an artificial world where you can do anything to anybody, people act out their most heinous fantasies without anyone being the wiser.
But when the people being killed in the Belenus Initiative simulations start dying in real life, panic threatens to overtake Barlow City. Detectives Glenn Takeo and Lisa Kendle are assigned to the case where, despite all the technology at their fingertips, they struggle in a police department no longer equipped to handle violent crime.
As the murder numbers add up and secrets get revealed, the two will have to come to terms with the murderous tendencies of humanity.
